Others Begin to See the Vision
Haiti Trip; Day Two: It’s been said that a picture can be worth a thousand words, and I have always been impressed by the power of this saying. Today, however, in the mayor’s office in Croix des Bouquets, I saw the power that words can have when I presented my teams proposal to transform the mass graves of Titanyen into a Haitian National Memorial and Peace Park.
Before my very eyes, I witnessed grown men cry tears of joy and I watched in wonder as child-like smiles return to faces long absent of such expression. It was a privilege for me to experience such emotion and, if I live to be a hundred years old, I will never forget the events of today.
…Today was a very good day…
