Celebrating Life and a Future Full of Promise
It’s Sunday morning and I am attending to some last minute details for my upcoming, 8-day, trip to Haiti.
Similar to previous trips, I will arrive in Haiti on the heels of another catastrophic event, in this case it’s Hurricane Sandy. As of this moment, Sandy’s death toll is listed at 29, though I expect this figure to more than double by the time all is said and done. In any event, since I’ll be in the communities where most of the deaths have occurred, I will be able to report a more accurate death toll by the end of next week.
That’s it for now. It’s time to take a shower, (a luxury we all take for granted), and to head-off to a wedding to celebrate life and a future full of promise. The kind of future, I might add, that all human beings deserve to have without exception.
