March Haiti Trip, Prologue

Haiti Trip (March – near Lutz); Prologue:

As most of you who know me can attest, (and apparently everyone who has actually sees me seems to agree), January’s trip to Haiti was exceptional brutal on me. As a result, I cancelled my February trip and instead spent the last 8 weeks allowing my body and soul to properly heal.

To that end, I am happy to say that the extra rest was just what I needed.

So, with my body and soul re-energized, I will conclude today’s pre-Haiti trip post with a personal note to my wife:

“Dearest Alex,

As I travel to the edges of humanity, and my own existence, know this to be true: It is your gentle touch that straightens my back when I am weary and it is your love that nurtures my battered soul back to health. Be well in my absence and know that you are loved.”

And to all of you who care for me and support my Haitian journey, (which is to provide dignity for the dead and hope and opportunity for the living), be well and I’ll speak with you again soon…
