Haiti, Her People And Hurt No Words Can Express
I have just returned from my first trip to Haiti. It’s amazing how far back in time one can go while traveling so few miles.
Over the coming days, I will be posting various photos from my trip. In most cases the images will speak for themselves. Occasionally, some narrative pertinent to the photo will accompany the image. In either case, I will respond to the images with respect and dignity toward Haiti and her people.
Moving forward let me apologize in advance for my shortcoming wordsmith-wise. While in Haiti, especially in Port-au-Price, I witnessed events and human conditions that extended beyond my grasp emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. In truth there are no words that can properly express how I felt while in Haiti, or now for that matter.
And, frankly, I hope nobody ever hurts so much as to be able to create such words. If such words are ever created they will, undoubtedly be penned by a Haitian.
After my first visit to Haiti, that’s what I say. What do you think?
