Haitian National Memorial and Peace Park discussions with a Ground Zero backdrop
I’m in New York City in a hotel that borders Ground Zero. From my window on the 17th floor the scars of 9/11 are still visible, though new construction courageously pushes back against the devastation wrought here long ago.
As I gaze below there is a reverence to this place that only mass death can bring into being. I am familiar with this feeling and find it comforting, especially today, as I prepare to meet with representatives of World Vision and the United Nations to discuss my Haitian National Memorial and Peace Park initiative.
“Silenced does not mean forgotten and death without dignity is an affront to all of humanity.” …It’s now time to go…
