Serendipity Strikes Again!
Haiti Trip; Day One: Today was another one of those days where my Haitian journey took an unexpected and serendipitous turn.
After nearly two years of trying in vain to schedule a meeting with the “legal landowner” of the property upon which the Corail resettlement camp sits, guess who came to a dinner held in my honor? Yep, you guessed it, it was Mr. Reclusive Landowner himself; in the flesh and sharing a depth of truth that has yet to meet the light of day…ever!
For nearly three hours we engaged in a dialogue that history may one day consider as a watershed event. We both dispense with formality and I am honored to have been a part of this historic encounter.
That’s it for now. I am exhausted and, since I can no longer see straight, I thinks it’s time to call it a day. Sleep well….
